Langton Green Fiesta 2019

Dates & Timings:

Age group timings are as follows:

Saturday 1st June

  • Morning session (8.45am - 1pm) - U10, U12
  • Afternoon session (2.00pm - 6.00pm) - U7 group 1, U8, U14, U11/U12 girls

Sunday 2nd June

  • Morning session (8.45am - 1.15pm) - U9, U15, U9/U10 girls
  • Afternoon session (2.15pm - 6.00pm) - U7 group 2, U11, U13

Please note re U7s - unless we have specifically told you that your U7 team are on the Saturday (U7 teams enteriing late April / May) then you wiill play on the Sunday.


Entry is £40 per team and is payable online either by bank transfer or Paypal. Details will be sent in the confirmation e-mail you recieve after entering. Payment is preferred immediately, but must be made within 14 days of entry (or by the eve of the tournament, whichever is earlier) to ensure your place is secured. Entry is open to affiliated clubs only at this stage. 

Location & Parking:

Our fiesta takes place at Langton Green Recreation Ground, Spledhurst Road, Langton Green, Kent TN3 0JJ.

The landmark to look out for is the Hare Pub. Turn down Speldhurst Road at the Hare and you can't miss us, a couple of hundred yards down on the left.

Parking will be clearly signposted once you arrive. Please note that parking is not in the village hall car park where you may have parked if you've been to normal matches during the season at Langton Green Rec. Instead, it's accessed via Lampington Row. Marshalls will be there to show you to the car park. A map is included below.,+Langton+Green,+Tunbridge+Wells/@51.1337448,0.2018151,17z/

Parking will cost £4 including a programme, which lists the fixtures for each age group.


The U7 age group is non-competitive and will feature a round robin group stage where each team will play against other teams in their group. All players will receive a medal for taking part. U7 teams will play a minimum of 5 matches.

All other age groups (U8 upwards) are competitive (group stage followed by knockouts) and we will organise the tournament to ensure everyone gets to play a good amount of football, whilst staying within FA guidelines for maximum amounts of game time per day.

Our intention, as always, is to run both a cup and a plate competition after the initial group stage, so as to give teams of all ability levels the chance to compete. In age groups / competitions where we have less than 10 teams, we may not run a plate competition, but that's at our discretion.

Games are 10 minutes long (2 x 5 minute halves), with knockout games going straight to penalties. There is no extra time.

We do our utmost to ensure no long gaps between games, plenty of game time for all teams and opportunities for sides of all abilities to progress. The groups are also seeded to the best of our knowledge, to ensure no "group of death" scenario, with teams from the same club separated in the group stage where possible.

The individual format of each age group will depend on the number of entries and will be decided nearer the time.

Team / Squad Sizes:

U7 and U8 will play 5 a side.
U9 - U15 will play 6 a side.

Squad sizes can be up to a maximum of 10 players, but we only have 8 medals for each team that reaches a final, so if you bring more than 8 players, some will go without. We can't order extra medals afterwards I'm afraid either as they're produced in bulk prior to the tournament.


We will be offering a range of refreshments on the day, with snacks, hot and cold food, ice creams, drinks and a bar.

We follow the FA's RESPECT campaign and we ask that anyone attending our tournament does the same. The friendly atmosphere is a huge part of our fiesta year on year. Football inevitably invokes strong emotions, winners and losers, but any players, coaches, spectators or teams who do not meet the standards we expect, risk being expelled from the tournament and not invited back in susequent years.
