U14 Phoenix Need a New Goalkeeper

Langton Green U14 Phoenix are looking for a new permanent goalkeeper to join our existing squad for the remainder of this season and beyond, after our existing goalkeeper was given an opportunity with a National League club's youth team.

The team were Crowborough League A division champions in the 2016/2017 season, winning the league without losing a game. This season we moved to the Sussex League for a new challenge and have continued to progress as individuals and a team.

Our coaches are FA qualified (up to and including FA Level 3) and have run the team for 6 years now.

Our coaching philosophy is to help each and every individual develop to the best of their ability within a strong team environment. We play attractive, passing football, with our goalkeeper expected to be part of that when we have possession.

You won't find us screaming and shouting at our players - our approach is to treat them as intelligent young people who are expected to make decisions for themselves and learn from mistakes rather than being berated for them by us.

First and foremost, we are looking for a goalkeeper with an excellent attitude. You would be the number 1 goalkeeper and would not be expected to share the role with any other player. We expect a commitment level of around 90% availability minimum, for both training and matches.

Training is on Tuesday evenings at Tunbridge Wells Boys' Grammar School (8pm - 9pm) on the 3G pitch there and matches are Sundays (usually mornings, occasionally afternoons).
